We Are Launching, and I Could Not Be More Excited
After months of field testing Systemic & Sustainable by Design™ with district engagement leaders across the country, the response has been consistent and clear: this is something the field needs right now.
The work you are about to explore is not new. Systemic & Sustainable by Design™ is the culmination of over thirty years of field-informed practice, shaped by what actually works in the field, for the leaders who are in it.
It has been a long time coming, and it is almost here.
Over the last several months, I have been quietly sharing the concept of Systemic & Sustainable by Design™ with district engagement leaders across the country and field testing the Systemic Engagement Quick Scan with practitioners doing this work every day. The response has been consistent and clear: this is something the field needs right now. Leaders recognized themselves in the tool, named what they had been experiencing but could not quite articulate, and walked away with a clearer sense of where to focus their energy. That feedback gave me the confidence to take this next step.
Systemic engagement becomes sustainable when leaders have the language, structure, and tools to make the work visible and actionable.
This Thursday, I will officially introduce Systemic & Sustainable by Design™ (SSBD™) at the Community Schools x Family Engagement (CSxFE) conference in Long Beach, California, hosted by the Institute for Educational Leadership (IEL). I could not think of a better place or a better moment. Systemic & Sustainable by Design™ is an engagement ecosystem drawn from over 30 years of experience, designed specifically for district engagement leaders and those who aspire to that role: the people doing the daily, often under-recognized work of building the organizational conditions that make family and community engagement real and lasting. SSBD™ serves as a comprehensive resource for implementing systemic engagement that endures, offering a connected set of diagnostic tools, resources, and learning experiences grounded in practical, field-tested design.
If you are a district or engagement leader ready to take an honest look at where your system stands, the Quick Scan is available now at systemicbydesign.org. It takes about three minutes and is free. You will walk away with a clear snapshot of your current engagement system, your highest-leverage priorities, and a preview of the deeper analysis and tools available through the full Systemic Engagement Navigator, launching fall 2026. While you are there, sign up for a free SSBD™ membership and join a growing community of district engagement leaders. Members receive our quarterly newsletter along with curated resources, field insights, and tools designed to support the work you do every day.
Start with the Quick Scan.
Take a three-minute snapshot of your engagement system, then return to the SSBD™ Community Hub for updates, resources, and future learning opportunities.
